Subject: Annual Bent Tree meeting
Date: Friday, September 26, 2008 9:53 AM
Hello,
I want to thank all those that came last night to
the Annual BTPOA Meeting. Thanks to those that helped set up and tear down the
Barn. And I want to especially thank Terri Patterson for the great food and
drink bar setup. It looked great and was very tasty. THANKS TERRI.
It was a great presentation by forester Hat Hrack from the Colorado State Forest
Service. They have people that can come and inspect your property for beetles
etc. It was so well received that all present would like us to contract them
for the whole of Bent Tree. We will get a price, the individual price was $50
per lot, if we do it for everyone there is a tremendous cost savings. That
means everyone who wants their trees inspected must give permission for them to
come on their property to inspect the trees.
Unfortunately we did not have enough lots represented for a quorum tonight so
the meeting could not be held. We will send out information soon about a new
date for the Annual meeting. State law makes it mandatory to have an annual
meeting, where we must have a quorum. A Christmas party and meeting was
suggested. If we were to do a party, someone other than a board member will
have to take on the event planning for a Christmas party. Any volunteers?
While I appreciate the vote of confidence in the BOD, we do need you all to come
to the meeting. We did have some great achievements this past year. The
Leadership of the Board resulted in you decreasing over 500,000 gallons of water
usage, we got a price concession from Tri-Lakes Disposal saving their Bent Tree
customers around $8400 annually, and the beautification of the entrances to Bent
Tree is remarkable. Our trail system is being worked on. Many steps of
progress are being accomplished to improve our neighborhood.
We did find volunteers, and the committees will be contacting you. Bill Owens
is joining the CCC and will be the chairperson. Red Oak management will be
under Bill’s direction. Bill is looking for more committee members; one in each
filing would be ideal. Please help. We will have his contact information on
the web site ASAP. We found another ACC member that will help Mark and Patrice
his name is Ron Restanio. And we found a new Board member Mike Mastrodonato.
We welcome you all and please serve on the committees and Board immediately; we
will formalize the appointments at the next Annual meeting.
The water meter-reading task is upon us again. Jerry Lopez needs someone that
is handy with Excel to help build the State report data. He is a committee of
one and with him traveling we need to have some backup on the committee in case
he is out of town when we need to build the report or gather additional data.
Please send an email to Jerry to volunteer.
We will need those lots selected to report their meter readings, to send in the
meter reading cards as close to October 1st as possible. It takes time to sort
out the information and prepare the report to the State, which is due Nov 1st.
The priority steps to collect this information will be as follows.
1) The best will be if everyone sends in the card that was distributed to
them
2) For those that do not send in the cards we need volunteers to phone each
property owner to try and get the meter reading if they have not sent in the
card. In the past 10 volunteers did the trick.
3) For the remainder that have not reported we will need volunteers to go to
each home and help them with getting the meter reading. Last year it took
between 5 and 7 volunteers.
You can volunteer by sending an email to Jerry at
jerrylopez@runbox.com, and send it also to me
DuaneFitch@earthlink.net. Jerry will be out
of the country during part of October, by sending to both of us we can
coordinate the effort and not drop the ball.
Additionally we need to check up on any changes in the reported irrigated
acreage on each Lot. Please send and email stating no change or what has been
changed.
As soon as we set the date for the rescheduled Annual Meeting, I will send the
information. It is important that you attend if you possibly can.
Please let me know if you have questions or comments.
Regards,
Duane Fitch
