Dear Bent Tree Homeowners,
 
The Architectural Control Committee was set up to protect the values of the properties in Bent Tree by reviewing all construction to assure that it maintains the standards set forth in the Covenants.  The ACC is highly sensitive to the ambiance of the neighborhood when approving any construction, including fences, taking into account the appearance from the street and adjacent lots.
 
Recently the ACC has seen quite a few violations of the Covenants in the form of unapproved and sometimes inappropriate construction or destruction on Bent Tree lots.  Since many of you are new or relatively new homeowners and perhaps did not read the requirements set forth in the BTPOA Covenants, we thought we'd share with you the top 10 reasons to submit an application to the Architectural Control Committee for approval before commencing work on a project.
 
1. You want to add a structure of any kind on your lot.
2. You want to add on to your existing house/garage/etc.
3. You want to add any hardscape or irrigation (including water features of any kind) to your lot. (Remember we are very restricted as to water usage for irrigation in Bent Tree. Contact Jerry Lopez, our Water Manager if you have any questions or concerns.)
4. You want to change the footprint of your driveway. (See #1.)
5. You want to cut down trees greater than 4 inches in diameter.
6. You want to build a play structure or tree house. (see # 1.)
7. You want to build a fence or wall on your property. (see #1.)
8. You want to add solar panels or wind power to your property.
9. You want to paint your door, your house, your garage, your shed.
10. You want to put up a flagpole.
